College Green Plaza - Public Consultation

The following is an open letter circulated by Dublin City Council:

The new Luas operations will commence in late 2017 and major traffic management changes will be necessary at College Green. These traffic management changes will also present an opportunity to develop a new Civic Plaza at College Green.

A public consultation process was held last November and we are now following up with an online public consultation. The online consultation is being hosted on the City Council’s website and can be found at www.dublincity.ie under Consultations, or at the following link:

We would appreciate if you could participate in the consultation as we are very keen to ensure that as many ideas and opinions as are possible are captured as part of the consultation.

Best regards

Terenure Community Energy Saving Project - YOU can join in and SAVE!

After the massive success of the I Love Terenure 2030 Better Energy Community last year, we are now holding a community meeting next:

Wednesday 25th January
at 7.30pm
in the Donal McCann Theatre, Terenure College.

This project raised over 1 million Euro in grant funding for the community of Terenure in 2016. Many private homes and business benefited from this grant money.

If you would like to be part of the 2017 application please come along to the meeting above. We will answer any of your questions or concerns. We will also be showing some very interesting case studies from 2016.

All are very welcome to attend.

With the success of last year's project, and the many requests from other local communities to get involved, we are now opening this project up to all surrounding areas: Harolds Cross, Templeogue, Rathfarnham, Rathgar, Rathmines, Kimmage, Perrystown, Walkinstown. If you know of persons living in these areas who may be interested, please let them know, they are very welcome to attend.

We have done so much together since 2010, please pop along and satisfy your curiosity and learn how you could reduce you energy bills, receive 2017 grant funds and be part of this emerging community project.

Joan was also very active in Dublin's Jewish Progressive Congregation

We send our sincere condolences to her husband John, sons Andrew, Nigel and David, and other family members.

Operation Transformation Back at Terenure College

The Parents Association at Terenure College is relaunching the Operation Transformation walks, starting on Monday, 9th January 2017. There will be two walks a week (Monday and Thursday nights), beginning at 7.30pm and focusing on distance.

A key driver for the Association's involvement has been the engagement by Prof. Donal O'Shea on the topic of childhood obesity and the importance of healthy lifestyle and eating. A past pupil of Terenure College, Prof. O'Shea is a key medical advisor to the RTE programme. Starting and finishing in the school grounds, these walks are designed to allow everyone to take part at their own pace. The route has been planned to minimise road crossings, but people still need to take care in the dark.

All parents are welcome to join, and feel free to bring along friends, neighbours, grandparents, etc.

For more information, check out the Terenure College Operation Transformation Walks page on Facebook.
