Terenure Residents Association Welcomes New Chairwoman
Jim Dowling has stepped down as the chairman of the TRA Committee after ten years, prior to which he had acted as secretary for twelve years. At the AGM on Thursday 10th April, local representatives expressed their admiration for Jim's work and wished him well. He will continue on the committee, providing invaluable assistance in relation to planning and other matters.
Congratulations were offered to Fionnuala Blake as she took up the role of chair. Fionnuala has managed planning and other matters on behalf of the committee.
Continuing on the committee are Birgit Schmidt (Vice-Chair), John Grant (Treasurer and Webmaster), Christine Hughes (Secretary), Barbara Atkinson, Leila Byrne, Ben Costello, Peter Duffy, Joan Finkel, Frank Harrison, Rioch McElinn, Patrick O'Hagan, Jin O'Reilly and Margaret O'Shea. Ann Mahon has stepped down. The committee welcomes Ann Whelan.

Terenure Village Market launching this Sunday 13 April
The first of a proposed twice monthly village market in Terenure will be on
Sunday 13th April from 11 - 4
Outside Gerry Caffrey Motors, Terenure Road North
Both local and long established Food and Craft stall holders will be showcasing and selling their delights. Face painting, balloon making, Irish dancing and live music will all play a part in this exciting new venture for the village - an Easter theme is also promised!
Please come along and support this local, volunteer initiative.

Spring Clean up day - Saturday 5 April
As part of the Terenure2030 initiative,
the Clean Up & Green Up Terenure team are happy to announce a spring clean
up in Terenure village on
Saturday 5th April between 10am and 3pm.
We will be donning our gloves and bibs
to clean up the village on the day. We also plan to overhaul the garden at
Evergreen Hall to provide a colourful summer garden for our local Evergreen
Club members.
If you are interested in digging,
weeding, sweeping, scrubbing or picking up litter on behalf of your community
please ear mark this day in your diary and donate a few hours between 10am and
3pm for this great community event. We would appreciate any time you can
provide on the day.

Guided walk of Terenure Saturday 29 March
Let's Walk and Talk is a community initiative by Dublin City Council comprising weekly walks in various parts of the city, themed historical walking tours and other special events. All tours are led by acclaimed historian, Pat Liddy who makes history come alive as you explore hidden parts of the city.
Meet outside the Bank of Ireland, 1 Rathfarnham Road, Terenure Crossroads, Dublin 6W
The Dodder has played a pivotal role in the origin of various villages in South Dublin. This walk will take in Terenure Village before meandering through Bushy Park and exploring, among other things, the role of the Dodder River in the area's history.
The tour will last about 90 minutes and is FREE - no advance booking necessary.

Saturday, 29th March at 12 noon.

Dodder Clean Up, 2014
Get your boots on! This year's Dodder clean up takes place on Saturday 12th April. It begins at 10am at Ballsbridge, and moves on to Donnybrook, Milltown, Rathfarnham, Templeogue, Firhouse and Tallaght.
