Lovin' Terenure? Then check out this recent post about our village on the Lovin' Dublin City Spotlight website. Although mainly advertising the plethora of eateries in the area, there are some great photos of the shops and restaurants decorated for Christmas. You can even spot our chairwoman in action at the regular "clean up, green up."

To inform the development plan process, the Council has put together an Issues Paper, which highlights some of the 'big picture' priority issues for the city over the next six years. Dublin City Council is encouraging citizens, communities and organisations to read through these issues and make observations.
From 10th November 2014 to 14th Jan 2015, you can make an observation through the Development Plan website on any of the issues outlined above. Click here to go to the Submission Form and enter your comments.
After 14th January 2015, Dublin City Council will review all comments as it prepares the Draft City Development Plan. The Draft Plan will in turn will be available to view and comment on in late 2015.

The First World War and Terenure: Update
On the 15th September we published an item on our website about how the Committee was trying to find out more about Terenure's connection, if any, with World War 1 (WW1).
Click on the links below to find out more about:
- Thomas Murray, a veteran of WW1 who lived in Rathfarnham
- Leo Valentine who fought and died at the Somme and whose letters home to his mother were found in a box in a house in Terenure
- the Europeana 1914-1918 website which contains materials and resources from all over the world about WW1
- the WW1 roadshow hosted by the National Library of Ireland at Trinity College, Dublin in July 2014.
Many thanks to Professor Eunan O'Halpin, Professor of Contemporary Irish History, Trinity College, Dublin, and to Katherine McSharry, National Library of Ireland, for their assistance.

Please Help Replant Terenure - Spring Bulb Planting Drive
Saturday 25 October
From 10 - 1
Evergreen Centre
(behind Health Centre, adjacent to car park, Terenure Road North)
The Terenure 2030 CleanUp/GreenUp group are
planning to plant 5000 spring bulbs in the village over the next 2 weekends so if anyone would like to lend a hand you would be
very very welcome! If you can make it for an hour or 2 that would be
super.
Bring along your gloves and a spade if you have one. The ground may be hard so expect that it might be a little taxing in places. We shall see. If you know that you will make it on either day it would be great if you can drop us a quick note so that we know approx numbers in advance. Otherwise just pop along on the day and we will be delighted to see you.
