‘Bus Connects – A Community Perspective’
27th January – The Spawell, Templeogue
The South Dublin County Public Participation Network (SDCPPN) hosted a community led meeting on Monday 27th January 2020 providing an opportunity for a group of 20 residents' associations (the Metro South West Group) to open a discussion on the efficacy of the proposed Bus Connects routes and the viability of an alternative option.
The SDCPPN objective in hosting the meeting was to facilitate a community driven discussion on proposed transport routes, how these routes impact local communities and to highlight the work that one community has done in exploring what they believe would work best in their community.
The Metro South West Group have researched extensively and developed a position on the best transport option for their area (Rathfarnham, Terenure, Templeogue). They argue that the underground Metro that will be built on the North side of the city should not cease at Charlemont as proposed, instead it should continue from the city on to Knocklyon/Firhouse providing the best possible transport option for their area.
The presentation was delivered by Pauline Foster and Sean Ward and can be seen here.
