Dublin City Council are holding a public
consultation until Wednesday 31st August 2017 to canvas the views of the
public on the adjustment of the base rate of the Local Property Tax (LPT) for
the year 2018. The information gained in this consultation will be
presented in a report to City Councillors, at a special meeting to be held in
September 2017, to inform them in their decision making duties on the
adjustment of the LPT rate for 2018. Once the Councillors make their
decision it must be notified to the Revenue Commissioners and the Department of
Planning, Housing and Local Government by September 30th 2017.

factor. Under Section 20 of this act a Local Authority is required to carry out
a public consultation process to canvass the public for their opinions and
views.
